Hello

Congratulations to all those who took part in the Red Nose Day fundraising initiatives. Our students have a wonderful reputation at Sainsbury’s for excellent and courteous bag packing and were therefore asked to help Sainsbury’s with their fundraising. Over £900 was raised. Pupils in both the Junior School and Senior School paid £1 to come to school dressed in red (Junior School) or as a pirate or Peter Pan character (Senior School)

Congratulations to Skerne House who won this year’s Swimming Gala. The behaviour of all students, swimmers and spectators, was exemplary and earned high praise from the Dolphin Centre staff.

Bon Voyage to all Year 5 and 6 pupils going to Paris at the end of term. Have a wonderful time!

Hello

Our Fashion Show was a resounding success. With your support a fantastic sum – over £1300 - has been raised for The Mouth Cancer Foundation. There are a range of photographs both on our website and Facebook page. Our thanks go to all the shops who supported the event.

It has been a busy sporting week this week - Football, Netball, Lacrosse and Orienteering at all levels.

Our Darlington Young Citizen of the Year proudly presented a cheque to a representative of her chosen charity, Cruse Bereavement Care, yesterday. Congratulations again to Antonia.

Congratulations also to the many Polam Hall Junior and Senior pupils who took part in the Darlington Festival last Saturday. Cara Dawson and Serena Bury emerged as overall winner and runner up. Further congratulations to our Year 5 group who won the cup for their Choric Speech.

Hello

Thank you for everyone’s support at our Open Morning last weekend. We welcomed many new visitors to the school.

We are looking forward to the Fashion Show this evening in aid of Mouth Cancer Foundation. Photographs of the glamorous outfits will be on the website early next week.

We need your help to make sure that the information we hold on your children is correct. Please return your daughter/son’s Pupil Record Sheet if you haven’t already done so even if there are no changes. We will be introducing our new e-mailing and texting service soon and your current e-mail addresses and mobile numbers are vitally important to allow this service to work.

The children in the Junior School enjoyed World Book Day last week. A selection of photographs can be found on our website and on our Facebook page. This week students from both the Junior & Senior School visited the mobile Planetarium set up in the New Gym and experienced a scaled down version of the London Planetarium.

Our thanks go to those who supported our Eurolinks Day on Monday. Without their help the Year 10 students would not have had the opportunity to practise their language skills in a business environment and in such an enjoyable way. As Mrs Harvey says: ‘C'EST GÉNIAL!’

And continuing on the French theme, don’t forget your Moulin Rouge May Ball tickets. Applications should be submitted by 19th March to take advantage of the reduced ticket price.
